Dokkito, a new distribution channel in the short distribution department
Dokkito is a new concept in Strasbourg that allows individuals, in exchange for free products, to transform their unused square meters into storage and sales space on behalf of small French producers (champagne, wine, honey, olive oil, craft beers). Suffice it to say, we find this initiative awesome.
With Dokkito, no more constraints on delivery costs!
Dokkito responds concretely to the constraint of delivery costs on small quantities to the customer and improves the visibility of small producers who do not have access to traditional distribution. The idea first germinated in the heads of Mélanie, who works in the domain of Marketing and Benoit, who works in the field of large distribution, both coming from a family of small producers. They initially wanted to help their relatives with the customers in the province and they decided to store some boxes in their garage. Therefore, the customers only had to come and pick up the products. Following this, they wanted to create a platform to automate the activity and make administrative management simpler and more secure. What a genius idea!
One single platform, more than one benefit
We particularly appreciated the idea of this platform, because there is no longer any monetary transaction and it makes the transaction friendly and convivial since the customer has already paid for his order. The last step is to pick up the order at the nearest depot and have a good time by creating a social bond with his interlocutor! We love it! Nothing more lovely than meeting a neighbor while buying products from good French producers!
