Nearly a hundred years after its first opening, The Tigre is back, and refurbished! More than just a brewery, it’s a new venue steeped in history that will be back on November 23rd. Kronenbourg SAS has partnered with the Tigre to reinvent this legendary place!

The story of le Tigre

Birthplace of the brand Tigre Bock of Kronenbourg in 1921, the brewery has long animated the days and the evenings Strasbourg until the sixties. A hundred years later, this jewel of the roaring twenties is reborn, faithful to its original spirit, at once friendly, authentic and fashionable. In an atmosphere mixing industrial decoration and original Art Deco style, the new Brasserie du Tigre not only perpetuates the traditions, but also knows how to jostle them by presenting a plural and multiple place, adapted to contemporary modes of conviviality.

A single establishment, but several different atmospheres

“Le Petit Tigre”

Made up of the bar and the “FabriK Tigre Bock”, it is the meeting point for beer lovers and convivial moments. Several people, standing at the bar counter or comfortably seated near the “FabriK Tigre Bock”, come to taste four Tigre Bock beers from Kronenbourg available exclusively at the Tigre. Made on the spot, unfiltered and unpasteurized, they are served directly from refining tanks in a vintage glass inspired by the historic bock of the time.

“Le Grand Tigre”

Under the large dome – designed in Art Deco glass tiles and dating back to 1931 – the atmosphere is as sumptuous as it is casual. Le Grand Tigre is the perfect place to sit down at-ease and take some pleasant time to share a dish with ingredients selected mostly from Alsatian producers. The venue is also composed of two other spaces, with a terrace of 150 m² with a Bavarian Biergarten spirit, with a more intimate space a little apart, and wine tastings cellars with exposed stones : a spacious setting, and a warm and charming atmosphere. The venue can be fully privatized able to accommodate up to 120 people for private parties, cocktail dinners and all other kinds of events. They will also regularly host and stage local artists or visitors to Strasbourg for live performances.

Beer

Once the venue will be opened, a range of four Tiger Bock beers will be available:

Installed within the FabriK Tigre Bock, the two master brewers are in contact with consumers and can exchange with them, explaining the different manufacturing processes and sharing their passion for beer.

À l’ouverture du Tigre, une gamme de quatre bières Tigre Bock sera disponible :

  • Brute : “Unfiltered”: A refreshing beer with a malty and fruity taste.
  • IPA : BA beer rich in hops with exotic fruits and bitterness.
  • Weizen Effect : A refreshing and thirst-quenching beer, inspired by German Hefeweizen with characteristic notes of banana and spice.
  • Seasonal hop : A delicate, finely bitter beer with floral hops.

Installés au sein de la FabriK Tigre Bock, les deux Maîtres Brasseurs sont au contact des consommateurs et peuvent ainsi échanger avec eux, expliquer les différents processus de fabrication et partager leur passion de la bière.

Meals and delicacies to share with conviviality

To pair with the beer, you can choose dishes such as: tartes flambées, sausages, frayed meat, pasta broth, organic pretzels… a cuisine of taste and sharing! A cuisine elaborated with local products. Breeders, market gardeners, millers, cheesemakers… From producer to consumer there is only one step, the core one: the cooking. The chef Thierry Schwartz, avant-gardist contributed to the project by bringing his precise know-how.

Going to Le Tigre is a culinary experience at affordable prices of Alsatian gastronomic culture, one advice: be tempted and enjoy it
